Event Time and Date
NAACP will be hosting its 3rd Annual Juvenile Justice and Youth Expo which will be held on March 7, 2017 from 6pm to 9pm in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom. This event is to provide awareness to the students at Southern Connecticut State University and the New Haven community on messages of unity, compassion, leadership and selfless service to inner city youth and overall hope for a better future in accordance to the theme of mental health needs of juvenile offenders in the Elm City and surrounding towns in the State of Connecticut. These messages will be expressed through various forms of art including poetry, live music, and a panel discussion with a strong presence of distinguished professionals and stakeholders who have expertise interacting with youth in the Juvenile Justice System. We want those attending this showcase to leave energetic, inspired and with some credible knowledge. Furthermore, we would like the youth in the City of New Haven and State of Connecticut Juvenile Justice System to have a chance of succeeding, despite the many barriers that are co-related to some youth who are in or may had been in the Juvenile Justice System, focusing on their mental health needs.
